Young People Can Do Amazing Things

I’m living in an environment where the majority of people I’m surrounded by are people in their twenties. The Lord has shown me over the past couple months that there is no limits to what He can do for His Kingdom, and I pray that even more of my generation starts realizing that truth and seeking it out as the reality in their lives.

“Let the little children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”

Mark 10:14

From our young age, God is calling us into His greatness, into His power and mighty plan that He has written for our lives. Before I could even walk, God knew I was going to be His missionary to save women in the Philippines. He perfectly orchestrated the events in my life to get me here. What if I wasn’t faithful? What if I didn’t follow Him to where He was leading me? Wait, I have been unfaithful to God, I have broken His commandments, and given into sin. I’ve missed many turns that I could’ve taken and gone down a different path. However, the one I messed up on and the one I made mistakes on seems to be one of my favorite stories.

“If we are faithless, he remains faithful–for he cannot deny himself.”

2 Timothy 2:13

God has remained faithful to me! How can I not be filled with joy at that news? Even though I mess up, even when I have been faithless, God has remained faithful! He was faithful when I was a child, and through my darkest times, through all my mess ups, and faithful to me now. I don’t deserve the life I’m living, but God calls me worthy and has set His path before me. I’m surrounded by many people of my age, and can’t help but stand in wonder of the Lord’s faithfulness to each of them.

“I am young in years, and you are aged; therefore I was timid and afraid to declare my opinion to you. I said, ‘Let days speak, and many years teach wisdom.’ But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand. It is not the old who are wise, nor the aged who understand what is right.”

Job 32:6-9

It is from young mouths and from my generation that I’m seeing World changers. People who are willing to speak up and not be afraid of their youth or their young years to make change happen. It’s not our age that allows us to do great things, it is the ‘Breath of the Almighty’ that makes us understand and that empowers us to build the Kingdom here on Earth! What if the whole Christian body decided to have the faith of a child, realizing it’s the Spirit living in us so we can do God’s work, not by our own success or age? The point I’m making is it’s incredible to see a generation of young Christians realizing that it’s not our age that hinders us, but that we have the power of Christ to radically change the World.

“And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward.”

1 Samuel 16:12-13
